Welcome to Talevio ("we," "our," or "us"). Talevio is a mobile application that allows children to draw characters and enables parents to generate AI-powered story videos using those characters. We are committed to protecting the privacy and safety of all our users, especially children.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Talevio, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

From Parents

  • Email address — used for account creation, login (via magic link/OTP), and communication
  • Child profile information — name, username, date of birth, and personality description (provided by the parent)
  • Payment information — processed securely through our third-party payment provider; we do not store credit card details
  • Device information — device type, operating system, app version, and a device identifier for app functionality

From Children

  • Drawings/Creations — digital drawings created within the app, stored as stroke data and rendered images
  • Username — chosen by the parent for the child's login

What We Do NOT Collect from Children

  • No real names (beyond what parents provide in profiles)
  • No email addresses
  • No location data
  • No contacts or address book information
  • No photos or camera access
  • No voice recordings
  • No social media identifiers

How We Use Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

  • App functionality — to provide the core drawing, character creation, and story generation features
  • Account management — to authenticate users and manage family accounts
  • Story generation — to use children's drawings as input for AI-generated story videos
  • Communication — to send parents account-related emails (login links, purchase confirmations)
  • Service improvement — to analyze crash reports and improve app stability (no personal information from children is used)
  • Customer support — to respond to parent inquiries and resolve issues

Data Sharing

We never sell personal information. We do not share children's information for advertising or marketing purposes.

We may share limited information with the following types of service providers:

  • Cloud infrastructure — for secure data storage and processing
  • Payment processors — to process credit purchases (parent data only)
  • AI service providers — to generate story content (drawings are processed but not retained by these providers)
  • Analytics and crash reporting — to monitor app stability (anonymized, no child-identifiable information)

All service providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect the information and use it only for the specified purposes.

Children's Privacy

  • Children can only create accounts through a parent/guardian
  • We collect the minimum information necessary for the app to function
  • Children's accounts have restricted permissions — they can only draw characters and view stories
  • No social features, no messaging, no sharing with other users
  • No advertising is displayed to children
  • No analytics are tied to children's identities

Parental Rights

As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:

  • Review the personal information we have collected about your child
  • Request deletion of your child's personal information
  • Refuse further collection or use of your child's information
  • Manage your child's account settings and permissions
  • Delete your child's account and all associated data at any time

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services. When you delete a child's account, all associated data (profile, drawings, characters, stories) is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify any individual may be retained for service improvement purposes.

Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
  • Sensitive data is encrypted at rest
  • Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Secure authentication with token-based sessions
  • Media files are accessed via time-limited signed URLs

Third-Party Services

We use the following categories of third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google) — push notifications, crash reporting, and analytics (configured to not collect identifiable information from children)
  • Stripe — payment processing (parent accounts only)
  • Cloud hosting providers — secure data storage and application hosting
  • AI providers — story and image generation (data processed but not retained)

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy and we ensure they meet our standards for data protection.

Cookies & Tracking

Talevio is a mobile application and does not use cookies. Our website may use essential cookies for functionality purposes only. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify parents via email or through the app before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
